Our Services
We offer specialized Occupational Therapy services, including both mobile therapy, where we come to you, and virtual therapy via Zoom video conferencing. Our specialty areas include treatment and rehabilitation for the shoulder, arm, and hand, as well as lymphedema care and chronic swelling management.
We currently accept local insurance plans for in-person therapy only, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Martin’s Point, Medicare, and Workers' Compensation.
In-person mobile therapy services are available on a self-pay basis, as are all virtual services. Please contact us for more information!

At Buxton Hand Therapy & Lymphedema Services, we are committed to providing high-quality therapy services to our community. To ensure we can offer the best care and attention, our in-person services are available to clients within a specific distance from our office in Buxton, Maine.
For virtual therapy services, we are happy to assist clients from anywhere.

Specialized Hand Therapy (In-Person)

-Evaluation and assessment of needs based on diagnosis/current function/limitations
-Individualized treatment plan based on timeline of healing, current deficits and personal goals
-Patient and family education
-Pain management
-Progression of exercises and a home program designed to increase motion, improve dexterity and increase strength for return to desired tasks
-Education of sensory re-education/desensitization techniques
-Manual Therapy techniques provided to maximize joint mobility and function of muscles/tendons
-Scar management
-Wound care
-Fabrication of custom molded splints for protection after injury/surgery, to correct a deformity or to improve function
Lymphedema Management (In-Person)
Services Provided
-Evaluation and assessment of needs based on diagnosis/current function/limitations
-Individualized treatment plan based on history of symptoms, current deficits and personal goals
-Patient and family education
-Home program including self massage, gentle exercises for improved function for return to desired tasks
-Manual Lymphatic Drainage to swollen body part for decreased swelling
-Multi-Layer Bandaging Application to decrease swelling
-Fit for custom compression garment to manage symptoms long term
-Assess for other needs/equipment
